The telescreen is important in the sense that it goes to show how very manipulative the Party is, deliberately watching citizen’s moves in order to break down the psychological liberty of its people. The telescreens are super evocative because it closely resembles Hitler’s Nazi Germany communication techniques.
In the end, one cannot trust his mind, the mere thought of freedom is an unfeasible occurrence, its just a delusional thought held by citizens to friend them throughout everyday life.
